JIVA YOGA CENTRE
Activities

Yoga Classes
Yoga classes were held weekly. They are currently not being held as Jeeva spends time doing his Dharma, building a temple in Mauritius.
Over the 24 years that classes were held, our group was always small with under 12 dedicated students at anyone time.

The classes lasted 1 to 1-1/2 hours and started with the chanting of AUM and an introduction from Yogi Jeeva. Classes do not focus on physical yoga postures and moves. Breathing and light yoga exercises are mixed in with Yogi Jeeva’s delivery of the Teachings for the day’s class; and with periodic chanting of the AUM and our mantra, My true nature is love, forgiveness, compassion...
The main purpose of any class is to re-connect us with our soul, recharge our spiritual energy, and help us to set our goals for the coming week. The class ends with a short meditation and a summary of what has been taught. For more information:

Food For The Hungry
At the Jiva Yoga Centre all students are encouraged to volunteer, help others, and do their Dharma.
Sometimes the students and Yogi Jeeva also combine their resources and volunteer as a group. We have given money, gathered clothing, blankets and school supplies for an orphanage in India; given money to buy food for malnourished and starving infants and toddlers in several African countries; and collected and donated warm clothing, blankets and basic necessities for the homeless in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
We have also provided sandwiches to the homeless in Abbotsford.
We have had a garden in Harrison Hot Springs and now currently in Langley, where we grow vegetables supplying several humanitarian agencies with fresh produce throughout the growing season.

Class Transcripts
Early Jiva Yoga students quickly recognised the profound depth and meaning of Yogi Jeeva’s teachings and began to record his classes in 2001. Today recordings exist for nearly 400 classes and 120 classes have been transcribed. Despite having taught Jiva Yoga for 24 years, Yogi Jeeva continues to deliver fresh and relevant teachings.
The Teachings are about the personal development and growth of each student; how to live and how to understand one’s self.
The ultimate goal of life is to meet life’s challenges and play its games with loving detachment, while staying on the path of spiritual enlightenment and staying true to one’s own soul and true nature. This is the great challenge of life and it is this that Jiva Yoga prepares us to achieve.

Healing/Counselling
Students of Jiva Yoga can arrange one-on-one sessions with Jeeva for healing and spiritual/life counselling.

While Jeeva has helped to heal individuals with varying maladies; over the past few years he has focused his healing on individuals with migraines, primarily in Canada, but also in Mauritius. Jeeva has had excellent results over the years curing people of migraines using a specific sound and vibration technique. His hope is that this technique will be noticed and then validated by the medical profession. He would like this technique to be administered by others, curing more people of their migraines than he alone could do.

Jeeva spends most of his time in Canada. Lately he has been spending more time then usual in Mauritius as he builds a temple. He is doing this on his own.
