JIVA YOGA CENTRE

About Us
Yogi Jeeva is the founder and guru of the Jiva Yoga Centre and has been teaching Jiva Yoga in the Fraser Valley for the past 24 years. Jeeva was born in Mauritius and lived there into his 30's, immigrating to Canada in 1991. While in Mauritius he spent 8 years in a Monastery.
We are a small group of dedicated students; some of us have been with Jeeva from the start. At the Jiva Yoga Centre the core teaching is that human true nature is love, forgiveness and compassion. We believe that everybody, without exception, is born with a beautiful nature of love, forgiveness and compassion.
We believe in Dharma, in doing service; in our responsibility towards our family, our community, our country, our world. Dharma means making a difference in somebody’s life and follows the tradition expressed in many cultures and spiritual traditions as the Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Treat others as you would like to be treated..
In each and every one of us there is a little hero, a Mother Theresa. If you are helping others you are doing your Dharma, so reach out. Make a little difference in someone’s life -- and be your own hero.
Jeeva teaches us how to live our lives using very practical tools that can be used each and every day to find peace in everything we do; how to deal with the trials and tribulations of life, and also how to be grateful. The Teachings of Jiva Yoga are realistic and pragmatic. Each one of us has a beautiful nature of love, forgiveness and compassion, but how do we hold onto that in the midst of life’s trials and intensity? Challenges face each one of us and are no easier for those who walk the spiritual path. We need to learn how to deal with life’s challenges without losing our connection to our soul, our true nature and who we really are. And for that we need guidance and tools -- and this is exactly what the classes and Teachings of Jiva Yoga provide.
At the Jiva Yoga Centre we seek to better know God, our soul and ourselves.
